Job summary

Rocket EMS in Carson City, NV is seeking a Conformal Coating Operator (Second Shift) to set up and operate conformal coating equipment, monitor coatings, and ensure quality. You will load PCBA assemblies, verify masking, and assist with demasking and post-coating handling.

This role emphasizes safety, IPC standards, and precise workmanship in a growing electronics manufacturing environment. Overtime and weekend availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating conformal coating equipment in electronics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with conformal coating materials (acrylic, silicone, urethane).
• Ability to read work instructions and travelers.
• IPC-A-610 knowledge or willingness to certify.
• Comfortable using UV inspection tools and precision equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor conformal coating equipment.
• Load and unload PCBAs with correct orientation and fixturing.
• Start, stop, and adjust machine parameters per instructions.
• Perform in-process inspections for coating quality.
• Identify and escalate coating defects.
• Apply and remove masking per instructions and prepare boards for coating.
• Demonstrate proper demasking and post-coating handling.
• Fill coating materials, solvents, and consumables per safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment and workstations in clean, organized condition.
• Record travelers, logs, and process deviations.
• Follow IPC workmanship standards and safety procedures.
