Position: 2nd Grade Classroom Teacher, Hopkins Elementary

Location: Hopkins Elementary School

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instruction, utilizing materials that facilitate active learning. Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs. Instruct and supervise students in the use of learning materials, technologies, and equipment to support instruction.
  2. Promote a culture of high expectations by providing high-quality, culturally relevant instruction. Support and implement the District’s Educational Racial Equity Policy. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that reflects and supports the racial and ethnic diversity of the student population and community.
  3. Develop and implement instructional strategies that include multiple assessment methods. Support students in achieving rigorous learning goals and encourage deep understanding of content areas.
  4. Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a safe, secure, and respectful learning environment. Communicate behavior expectations positively and consistently, recognizing individual differences.
  5. Contribute to professional growth and school-wide goals through participation in professional learning communities, parent and student surveys, meetings, and record keeping.
  6. Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, complying with all applicable policies and laws.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Applicants must be properly licensed as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: Based on the annual salary schedule for 1.0 FTE.

Work Year: 187 contract days, according to the district educator calendar.
