Position: Second Assistant Golf Professional.
Department: Golf Operations.
Reports To: Director of Golf / Head Golf Professional.
Employment Type: Full-Time.

Position Summary:

Plantation Golf & Country Club is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and service-oriented Second Assistant Golf Professional to join our Golf Operations team.

This position plays an important role in delivering an exceptional golf experience to our membership while supporting the daily operations of our 36-hole private country club. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for golf and member service.

The Second Assistant Golf Professional will assist with golf shop operations, tournament administration, member engagement, golf instruction, and the overall presentation and efficiency of the golf operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Golf Operations & Member Experience:

• Deliver exceptional, personalized service to members and guests.
• Assist in overseeing daily golf operations, ensuring a professional, organized, and welcoming environment.
• Manage daily tee sheet operations, including reservations, cancellations, member requests, and coordination of play.
• Monitor tee time availability, pace of play, and course utilization to enhance the member golf experience.
• Support the outside golf operations team to ensure consistent service standards.
• Assist with daily opening and closing procedures for the Golf Shop.
• Maintain a professional presence throughout the Club and proactively engage with members.

Tournament & Event Management:

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing member tournaments, leagues, outings, and special golf events.
• Prepare tournament materials, pairings, scorecards, rules sheets, and results.
• Utilize golf tournament software to manage registration, scoring, and event administration.
• Coordinate with Golf Course Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure successful events.
• Support men's, women's, couples', and mixed golf programming.
• Assist with tournament communications and post-event follow-up.

Golf Shop & Retail Operations:

• Assist with daily Golf Shop operations, including merchandising, sales, and inventory management.
• Provide knowledgeable assistance with golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
• Support merchandise displays, product presentation, and retail promotions.
• Process member transactions accurately through the Club's point-of-sale system.
• Assist with inventory counts, special orders, and maintaining an organized retail environment.

Golf Instruction & Player Development:

• Provide individual and group golf instruction as assigned.
• Assist with member clinics, junior golf programs, and player development initiatives.
• Support instructional programming designed to encourage participation and enjoyment of the game.
• Promote golf activities and help create opportunities for members of all skill levels to participate.

Teamwork & Professional Standards:

• Assist in training and mentoring outside golf operations personnel.
• Maintain consistent communication with the Golf Professional staff and other Club departments.
• Ensure Club policies, dress code standards, and golf etiquette are communicated and consistently upheld.
• Respond promptly and professionally to member questions, concerns, and requests.
• Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and follow-through in all assigned responsibilities.
• Support a positive team culture focused on hospitality, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in golf operations at a private country club, resort, or comparable golf facility preferred.
• PGA Associate status or active pursuit of PGA membership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the game of golf, rules, etiquette, and tournament operations.
• Experience with tee sheet management, golf tournament software, and point-of-sale systems preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to member service and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced golf environment.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and willingness to take initiative.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based on Club operations.
