Job summary

Seaward Services in Norfolk, VA seeks a Second Assistant Engineer (2AE) to support safe operation of engineering systems aboard TSVRON training vessels. You will assist the Chief Engineer and senior staff, stand engine room watches, and participate in underway and in-port duties.

Requirements include USCG MMC with STCW endorsements for Chief/Second Engineer 3,000 kW or more, USCG Medical Certificate, TWIC, and a valid passport.

Qualifications

• MMC with STCW endorsements meeting Chief/Second Engineer standards for 3,000 kW (4,000 HP) or more.
• USCG Medical Certificate for engineering service.
• TWIC credential.
• Passport required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Support operation of propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
• Stand engine room watches and assist Chief Engineer.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain engineering logs and reports; follow safety procedures.
• Assist in training junior engineers and support readiness.
