Job summary

Brewer Morris is partnering with a publicly traded company in the Atlanta area to fill an SEC Reporting, Accounting Manager role. The position offers exposure to external financial reporting, technical accounting, and M&A support within a growth-focused environment.

You’ll lead month-end close, assist with quarterly and annual filings, and collaborate with auditors while guiding junior staff in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA designation required.
• 4–6+ years of accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting.
• Experience with SEC reporting and US GAAP.
• Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and review of SEC filings and quarterly/annual reporting.
• Partner with leadership on external financial reporting and technical accounting matters.
• Research accounting guidance and assist with new reporting requirements.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Manage debt, equity transactions, and stock-based compensation accounting.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors on compliance and reporting.

I’m partnered with a publicly traded organization in the Atlanta area on a newly added SEC Reporting, Accounting Manager role. This is a great opportunity for a public accounting professional looking to step into industry who enjoys a mix of SEC reporting, technical accounting, corporate accounting, and M&A support in a growth-oriented environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• Partner with leadership on external financial reporting, disclosure support, and technical accounting matters.
• Research and evaluate accounting guidance and assist with implementation of new reporting requirements.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end corporate accounting activities.
• Manage accounting related to debt, equity transactions, and stock-based compensation programs.
• Collaborate with internal audit and external auditors to support compliance and reporting initiatives.
• Assist with acquisition accounting projects, including integration support and purchase accounting activities.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and special projects as the organization continues to grow and evolve.

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, and CPA designation.
• 4-6+ years of accounting experience within public accounting (Big 4/National Firms), corporate accounting, or financial reporting.
• Exposure to SEC reporting, technical accounting, or publicly traded company environments.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across multiple business functions.
