Job summary

Cardinal Health is looking for an External Reporting professional in the Columbus, OH area with a hybrid schedule. This role drives quarterly and annual SEC filings and US GAAP reporting, coordinating with FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal and external auditors to ensure timely, accurate disclosures.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years in the field (public accounting or SEC reporting), supervisory experience, and CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in related field; 5+ years in public accounting or SEC reporting; supervisory experience preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Drives timely completion of quarterly and annual SEC filings with FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax and External Auditors.
• Identifies and documents US GAAP accounting issues and related operational considerations.
• Manages monthly close process, reviews journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversees outsourced staff and ensures adherence to policies; mentors less experienced colleagues.
• Defines internal controls to manage financial risk and opportunities for improvement.

What External Reporting contributes to Cardinal Health

Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.

External Reporting is responsible for the preparation and review of financial information to be released outside of the organization such as to the SEC, international statutory regulators and other organizations as well as for the research, interpretation, and communication of related accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Drives timely completion of quarterly and annual SEC filings concurrently through coordination with FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax and External Auditors.
• Possesses the relevant experiences and capabilities to identify, research, evaluate, conclude on, and document both technical US GAAP matters and operational accounting issues.
• Assistsin the management of the monthly financial close process, including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and performing timely review of results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
• Oversees work conducted by outsourced staffandmaintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that outsourced staff comply with accounting policies and procedures. Effectively partners withoutsourced staffto take necessary course correcting actions.
• Defines and executes internal controls to manage financial risk.
• Is able tostrategically and effectively identify improvement opportunities and identifies the appropriate tools, approach, and cross functional involvement to execute on opportunities that are identified.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience, preferred
• 5+ years experience in related field, public accounting or SEC reporting experience, preferred
• Supervisory or Managerial experience with direct reports, preferred
• CPA preferred

Anticipated salary range:$106,700-$152,400
