Job summary

Duncan Aviation is seeking a Rapid Response Technician II to inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain aircraft and engine systems on a variety of corporate jets. The role requires some supervision, A&P certification, and prior corporate aviation experience.

Travel with a qualified team to customer sites in the U.S. and internationally; respond to service requests 24/7; lead efforts as needed and document actions per FAA and company requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold FAA‑approved A&P certificate and be in good standing.
• Minimum four years of corporate aviation maintenance experience.
• Lead Technician or AOG experience with corporate flight departments or MRO.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in high‑quality inspections, servicing, troubleshooting and maintenance; order parts as needed.
• Prepare documents required by policy and FAA regulations; log discrepancies and actions.
• Use technical data, follow instructions from shop personnel.
• Develop relationships with customers; assist sales/marketing; pursue service opportunities.
• Maintain parts inventory, calibrate tools, keep support vehicles clean.

Job description

TheRapid Response Technician II, with some to limited supervision, assists with inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing and other general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of aircraft and engine systems and components on a variety of corporate aircrafts, using Personal Protection Equipment, in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer’s specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation and training logs in a timely manner. RII Inspector training completion required within six to nine months. Will perform as a Qualified Inspector within twelve months of hire following training requirements.

The RRT Technician II travels to the customer’s location with a qualified team member to assist in performing (with some to limited supervision) on-wing inspection, troubleshooting, and to repair of engine/aircraft components on various corporate jets across the United States and internationally. This position interacts with customers and collaborates with Duncan team members to provide exceptional customer service and rapid response 24/7. Applicants should have some experience working on these corporate aircraft and engines

Essential Job Functions

1. With some to limited supervision, assists in high quality inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining of aircraft and engine systems and components on a variety of aircraft using proper tooling in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner. Accurately orders required parts as needed.
2. With some to limited supervision, prepares various documents required by Company policy and FAA regulations. Demonstrates proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD), and compliance statements.
3. Locates and uses appropriate technical data, follows verbal instructions and accepts directions from other shop personnel when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks.
4. Assists with developing and maintaining relationships with area customers, communicating with sales and marketing personnel, and monitors the company’s customer database to seek and solicit aircraft/engine service opportunities. Contacts and calls on customer for aircraft, engine, and APU, or other service support work to meet established financial goals. Responds to customer requests and issues regarding aircraft and engine service work.
5. Assists with managing and maintaining adequate and appropriate parts inventory certification, calibration of assigned tooling, working condition and cleanliness of support vehicles.
6. Be available to provide a continuation of service and be a point of contact for internal or external customers before or after scheduled hours of work.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned by Team Leader or Asst. Team Leader.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required
• Must be a fully licensed A&P in good standing with the FAA
• Must have a minimum of four years of Corporate Aviation Maintenance focusing on engine/airframe maintenance experience
• Must have previous Lead Technician or AOG maintenance experience with a Corporate Flight Department, Business Jet Service Provider, MRO or OEM.

Job Specific Requirements:

• Licenses/Certificates:Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required; RII Designation eligible. Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record
• Tools/Equipment:Duncan Aviation does require technicians to have their own basic tools to perform essential functions of the job. Duncan Aviation will provide tool lists for each position to qualifying candidates
• Attendance:Regularly scheduled attendance required; multiple overnight and short notice travel
• Physical:Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
• Environmental:Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments

The typical hourly starting pay range for positions in this job family in the state of Washington follows. Please note that the actual hourly rate may vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, market conditions, location, experience, skill level and shift.

• RRT Technician I $43.50-51.25/hour
• RRT Technician II $49.30-58.50/hour
• RRT Technician III $56.15-67.15/hour
