Job summary

Duncan-Aviation is seeking a Rapid Response Technician II to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain aircraft systems. This role supports customers both in the facility and on-site, flying to various locations in the U.S. and abroad.

Applicants must have an A&P certificate and a strong background in corporate aviation maintenance. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) contributions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years of Corporate Aviation Maintenance experience focusing on engine/airframe maintenance.
  • Previous Lead Technician or AOG maintenance experience required.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and maintain documentation.

Job description

Rapid Response Technician II, with some to limited supervision, assists with inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing and other general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of aircraft and engine systems and components on a variety of corporate aircraft, using Personal Protection Equipment, in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer’s specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation and training logs in a timely manner. RII Inspector training completion required within six to nine months. Will perform as a Qualified Inspector within twelve months of hire following training requirements.

The RRT Technician II travels to the customer’s location with a qualified team member to assist in performing (with some to limited supervision) on‑wing inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of engine/aircraft components on various corporate jets across the United States and internationally. This position interacts with customers and collaborates with Duncan team members to provide exceptional customer service and rapid response 24/7. Applicants should have some experience working on these corporate aircraft and engines.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Assist in high quality inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining of aircraft and engine systems and components on a variety of aircraft using proper tooling in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner. Accurately order required parts as needed.
  2. Prepare various documents required by Company policy and FAA regulations. Demonstrate proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD), and compliance statements.
  3. Locate and use appropriate technical data, follow verbal instructions and accept directions from other shop personnel when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks.
  4. Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with area customers, communicating with sales and marketing personnel, and monitor the company’s customer database to seek and solicit aircraft/engine service opportunities. Contact and call customers for aircraft, engine, APU or other service support work to meet established financial goals. Respond to customer requests and issues regarding aircraft and engine service work.
  5. Assist with managing and maintaining adequate and appropriate parts inventory certification, calibration of assigned tooling, and working condition and cleanliness of support vehicles.
  6. Be available to provide a continuation of service and be a point of contact for internal or external customers before or after scheduled hours of work.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned by Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
  • Must be a fully licensed A&P in good standing with the FAA.
  • Must have a minimum of four years of Corporate Aviation Maintenance focusing on engine/airframe maintenance experience.
  • Must have previous Lead Technician or AOG maintenance experience with a Corporate Flight Department, Business Jet Service Provider, MRO or OEM.
Job Specific Requirements
  • Licenses/Certificates: Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required; RII Designation eligible. Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Tools/Equipment: Duncan Aviation requires technicians to have their own basic tools to perform essential functions of the job. Company will provide tool lists for each position to qualifying candidates.
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; multiple overnight and short‑notice travel.
  • Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting.
  • Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments.
Pay and Benefits
  • Typical pay range for RRT Technician I: $37.50‑44.15 per hour.
  • Typical pay range for RRT Technician II: $42.50‑50.50 per hour.
  • Typical pay range for RRT Technician III: $48.40‑57.90 per hour.
