Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Seattle, WA for a 13-week assignment, 40 hours per week, on night shifts. You will act as a circulating or scrub nurse, with potential RN first assistant duties, supporting surgical teams in a fast-paced OR setting. BLS and recent acute care experience required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, and/or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS certification required.
• 3 Years (experience) indicated in description

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients' family members and the operating team.
• Ensure that the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
• Additional duties as Circulating OR Nurses may include responding to comfort and safety needs of patient; inventory and handling of specimens; monitoring equipment; pre/post-procedure inventory.
• Additional duties for Scrub OR Nurses may include selection and handling of instruments and supplies; inventory pre- and post-procedure.
• Additional duties for RN First Assistant may include delivering direct surgical care and helping control bleeding; suturing patients post-surgery
