Job summary

Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking a Project Geologist for our Seattle, WA office. This mid-level role focuses on environmental investigations, remediation, and field leadership, overseeing soil borings, well installations, sampling, and regulatory coordination.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in environmental consulting, with a strong background in field methods, data interpretation, and technical writing. Licensure as a Geologist (LG) or ability to obtain within a year is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or related field
• 4+ years of environmental consulting experience with field and project responsibilities
• Licensed Geologist (LG) or ability to obtain licensure within one year
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred or obtainable on hire)
• Proficiency in environmental field methods (soil logging, well installation, sampling techniques) and field equipment

Responsibilities

• Oversee soil borings, monitor well installation, and groundwater/soil sampling
• Coordinate subcontractors and interact with clients and regulatory agencies
• Prepare clear, concise technical reports and interpret environmental data
• Develop scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates; mentor junior staff
• Lead field crews and ensure safety, quality, and on-time project delivery
