Job description

The Seattle office of Fisher Phillips is seeking an associate with 2+ years of employment-based immigration experience. This is an excellent partnership-track opportunity to work closely with a group of established immigration partners.

Qualified candidates will be able to handle a caseload of employment-based immigration matters from intake through adjudication under the supervision of partners, while taking increasing ownership of client relationships and filing strategy. Ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, strong legal writing skills, and the drive to develop into a well-rounded immigration practitioner.

This is a hybrid role based in our Seattle office and requires a minimum of three (3) in-office days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare a broad range of employment-based immigration petitions, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-2, and PERM-based and self-petitioned immigrant cases (EB-1, EB-2 including National Interest Waivers, and EB-3).
  • Conduct case assessments and advise clients on eligibility, documentation requirements, filing strategy, and risk, with partner oversight as appropriate.
  • Draft and review petition briefs, support letters, requests for evidence (RFE) responses, and other legal correspondence.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a day-to-day point of contact on assigned matters.
  • Stay current on changes in immigration law, regulations, and USCIS, DOL, and Department of State policy.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely, accurate filings.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and procedural requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing employment-based immigration law.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nonimmigrant and immigrant employment-based visa categories and the associated USCIS, DOL, and DOS processes.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional client-facing communication skills.

To apply, please upload a cover letter addressed to Attorney Recruiting, resume, a copy of your law school transcript, and a brief writing sample (10 pages max, not heavily edited by someone other than yourself). Principals only.
