Job summary

Wyoming State Forestry Division seeks a SEAT Manager to oversee 2–4 Single Engine Air Tankers, pilots and facilities across Casper, Gillette, Rock Springs and Worland. The role requires leadership, aviation safety emphasis, and coordination with dispatch, AFMO, and contracted staff.

Position is seasonal from April 2027 to October 2027 with housing may be provided and frequent travel for trainings and fire assignments. Expect long hours and outdoor work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• SEMG Trainee or SEMG qualification
• 2+ fire seasons as SEMG or higher
• Supervised aerial wildland fire prep/suppression
• Knowledge of airspace conflicts and FAA rules
• 4+ seasons in IC system
• 2+ years supervising in IC system

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tactical aircraft missions with dispatch and fixed wing unit manager.
• Conduct daily briefings with pilots and contract personnel.
• Maintain documentation: Base Activity Log, Daily Ops Sheet, Pilot Duty Day Log, etc.
• Provide leadership and foster teamwork.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Request support through AFMO.
