Job summary

Southland Casino Hotel in West Memphis, Arkansas is seeking a Cook for either full-time or part-time work. You will prepare food, train teammates, operate kitchen equipment, and ensure health and sanitation standards are met.

The position offers a pay range of $16.00–$17.00 per hour with benefits and training opportunities. Flexibility in shifts and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of back-of-house foodservice experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes.
• Basic math skills to calculate and follow recipe measurements.
• No high school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food to meet portion sizes and quality standards, maintain proper temperatures and storage.
• Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and stocked.
• Record waste on the spoilage sheet using waste control guidelines.
• Perform opening, closing, side work duties and end-of-day inventory.

As a Cook, you will take your culinary career to the next tier as you assist in training team members, preparing food, operating kitchen equipment, and upholding all health codes and sanitation regulations.

Pay

$16.00 – $17.00 / hour

What will you do?

• Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, the freshness and quality of all menu items, and packages all products to proper specifications

More about you

• At least1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position
• Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
• Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
• No high school diploma or GED required

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
• Standing and walking for the entire length of shift in moderate to high noise levels
• Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids and operate kitchen equipment
• Exposed to variable temperatures
