Job summary

UofL Health is seeking Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses for multiple departments: Cath Lab, CVOR, and Main OR across Jewish, Mary & Elizabeth, and UofL Hospitals in Louisville. The RN will provide skilled nursing care to diverse patient populations using standardized nursing processes and participate on the care team to improve patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership in coordinating patient care, applying evidence-based practices, and maintaining safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required for hire.
• All new-hire associates must start BSN within 12 months and complete BSN within 3 years (only at UofL Hospital).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of one year of hospital RN experience required.
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license to work in Kentucky required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS may be required for specific areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients across age groups using the nursing process and standards.
• Collaborate with the care team to improve quality of care and patient safety.
• Utilize nursing competencies and leadership to coordinate patient care and communicate with team.
• Participate in professional development and apply evidence-based practice to patient care.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required)

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)

BSN program completion within 3 years (required at UofL Hospital only)
