Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Wallet-Ready Switcher/Package Handler to support yard operations in Wilson, NC. The role involves moving trailers between yards and doors, loading and unloading packages by hand, and ensuring safety in all movements.

Responsibilities include communicating with control to coordinate trailer flows, documenting moves, and inspecting equipment before and after use. Prior experience is preferred but not required, and a strong team mindset is essential.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
Ability to understand and follow safety instructions.
Ability to read numbers and sort packages accurately.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

Perform trailer switches by hooking and moving trailers from yard to doors and back.
Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
Document trailer moves in Yard Management System or switcher cards.
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
Load and unload packages safely using conveyors, carts, and related devices.
