Job summary

Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services seeks wildland firefighters for the Phantom Canyon Crew as Forestry Technician TEMPS (Seasonal), April to October 2027 in Fort Collins, CO. You will combat wildfires on engines or hand crews, participate in chainsaw projects, and may assist with prevention, patrol, detection, or prescribed burning activities, with additional training throughout the season.

Qualifications include NWCG certifications, First Aid/CPR, a valid driver's license,

Qualifications

• NWCG courses and NIMS training are required or in progress.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Must complete NWCG Work Capacity Test.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wildfire equipment and vehicles, hand tools, and pumps.
• Possibly serve as fire line supervisor based on NWCG qualifications.
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain inventory and equipment on assigned apparatus.
• Communicate fire status and safety information to supervisors.
• Attend at least two monthly training sessions from April to October.
