Altaquip, founded in 1997, has become one of the largest providers of commercial and consumer equipment service in the U.S. We offer services across various product categories, including small engine repair and outdoor power and lawn maintenance. Altaquip services over 100 manufacturer’s brands including Craftsman, Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Caterpillar, Husqvarna, Ariens, Generac, EGO, Greenworks, and MTD, among others.

The Driver is the face of the company and must always project a professional and positive image of Altaquip while maintaining and building excellent customer relationships. This individual is responsible for the safe operation of a motor vehicle, safely picking up and dropping off units at customer facilities to ensure an excellent service experience. The role also requires maintaining compliance with all company policies/procedures and DOT regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Operate a company-provided truck efficiently and safely, complying with company policy and DOT regulations.
2. Pick up and deliver units between stores and the Service Center for repairs, and return units once repairs are completed.
3. Accurately track all units via pickup and delivery logs, obtaining required sign-offs on all units.
4. Build and maintain relationships with customers.
5. Utilize and comply with driver IT tools and administrative requirements.
6. Maintain truck cleanliness and organization.
7. Ensure truck compliance with DOT and company maintenance requirements.

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all common shop areas and perform other duties as assigned.
• Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as this job description is not exhaustive of all duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proven safe vehicle operation and a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Working Conditions

• Loading and unloading trucks in a shop environment or on a dock at customer locations.
• The majority of work hours will involve driving a box truck.
• Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently is required.
