Qualifications

• Active RN license in home state
• BLS (AHA) required on hire and maintained
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire and maintained
• PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year ER staff nurse experience; ED setting preferred
• CEN certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to patients with varying levels of illness and injury.
• Triage and quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems in high-pressure environments.
• Cooperate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Aid in resuscitative efforts, including CPR and use of defibrillators.
• Prepare and maintain equipment for emergency interventions (e.g., intubation, central line placement).
• Assist in patient stabilization for trauma, cardiac arrest, and acute illnesses.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity level using triage protocols

Location: Providence Medical Center-Kansas City, KS

ER RNs are critical front-line healthcare providers who perform rapid assessments, administer treatments, and coordinate care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. An ER Registered Nurse has expertise in emergency care procedures, such as starting IVs, administering medications, wound care, and basic life support. This RN can quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems efficiently in high-pressure environments and remains flexible to manage the unpredictable nature of emergency situations and rapidly changing priorities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License


• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.


• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.


• Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.


• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.


• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required.


• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.


• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.


• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility May Require Items Listed Below)

• In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.


• EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.


• Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
