Prime Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for night shifts at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. The role requires rapid assessment, IV start, medication administration, wound care, and life support within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include triage, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, and assisting in resuscitation. The ideal candidate holds an RN license, BLS and ACLS, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate required and current.
• ACLS certificate required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to patients in a high-paced ER setting.
• Triage and rapidly assess, decide, and act in emergencies.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and staff for comprehensive care.
• Assist in resuscitation, CPR, and use of defibrillators.
• Prepare equipment for emergency interventions (e.g., intubation, central lines).
• Assist in patient stabilization for trauma, cardiac arrest, and acute illness.
• Prioritize care using triage protocols.

Overview

We are seeking An Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides urgent and essential medical care for patients experiencing acute illnesses or injuries in a high-paced hospital environment. ER RNs are critical frontline healthcare providers who perform rapid assessments, administer treatments, and coordinate care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. An ER Registered Nurse has expertise in emergency care procedures, such as starting IVs, administering medications, wound care, and basic life support. This RN can quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems efficiently in high-pressure environments and remains flexibleto manage the unpredictable nature of emergency situations and rapidly changing priorities.

Shifts Available: Nights (7pm to 7am)

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Deliver high-quality care to patients with varying levels of illness and injury
• Triage and quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems efficiently in high-pressure environments
• Cooperation with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Aid in resuscitative efforts, including CPR and the use of defibrillators
• Prepare and maintain equipment for emergency interventions (e.g., intubation, central line placement)
• Assist in patient stabilization for conditions like trauma, cardiac arrest, and acute illnesses
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity level using triage protocols

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience and Qualifications:

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current. 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.3. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
