Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in Michigan. No prior tax experience is required, as training and support start from day one.

You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and explain tax concepts in clear terms to help clients maximize savings. You will work in-person, with flexible hours during peak tax season, and you’ll gain hands-on experience in client service, tax preparation, and advisory opportunities while building lasting

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
