Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. No prior tax experience required; you’ll receive training from day one and interact directly with clients to gather information and prepare returns.

You’ll build client relationships, identify tax-saving opportunities, and learn by doing, with an emphasis on service, teamwork, and a client-first approach. Flexible hours during peak season and opportunities for increased earnings as you gain tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
