H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in West Haven, CT to assist clients with complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns.

You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and provide guidance, backed by industry-leading training and technology. This in-person role emphasizes building lasting client relationships, delivering expert service, and contributing to a supportive office environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including explaining tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
