Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to serve clients at a local tax office. You will prepare accurate returns and identify tax-saving opportunities for diverse clients.

You will conduct in-depth client interviews, explain tax concepts in plain language, and build trusted relationships while delivering empathetic, consultative service. This in-person role offers industry-leading training, a competitive hourly rate, and an incentive plan based on impact as you grow

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse and complex situations (individual and business)
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess financial and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive client-focused office environment
