Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses. You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver empathetic, consultative service using our training and technology.

You will build lasting relationships, explain tax concepts clearly, and comply with IRS/state requirements, with an in-person role at a local H&R Block office and a competitive hourly rate

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or enrollment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and life changes, offering personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
