Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complex individual and business tax returns in-person at a local tax office. You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and provide clear recommendations while delivering empathetic, consultative service.

You’ll use your tax expertise and the company's training and technology to help clients navigate complex situations, build lasting relationships, and grow your tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related field
• Experience in client-facing, consultative or advisory roles
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain concepts clearly
• Must meet IRS/state continuing education requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct client interviews to understand financial situations and implications
• Provide personalized tax savings recommendations and product guidance
• Provide IRS support, notices, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive client-focused office environment
