Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping (preferred).
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential (preferred).
• Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution (preferred).
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (Copilot, ChatGPT) (preferred).
• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Build trusted client relationships and deliver empathetic, consultative service.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
