Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for the tax season to prepare accurate returns and provide adviser services at a local office. You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver clear tax guidance using our training and technology.

In this in-person role, you will handle complex individual and business returns, maintain client relationships, and support the office team with tax notices and IRS guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Completed H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation or related experience
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative role
• Strong communication skills, ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must meet continuing education and IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct thorough client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
