Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. seeks a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional in Asheville, NC to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and advise on tax-saving opportunities using Block's training and technology.

You will deliver empathetic, consultative service, support IRS notices when needed, and collaborate with a team to maintain a client-focused office. A high school diploma is required; CPA/EA is preferred, with ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping including preparing individual and business returns
• Experience in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations including individuals and businesses
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide tax savings opportunities and recommendations along with H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team and maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
