Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare returns and advise clients. You’ll interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver confident, empathetic service using Block’s training and technology.

This in-person role supports diverse client needs at a local tax office. The position emphasizes accuracy, client education, and teamwork, with an incentive plan tied to impact and tax expertise.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• At least 1 year of experience in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
• Must meet IRS and state continuing education requirements and have a high school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate returns for diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax-saving opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a client-focused office environment
