Job summary

H&R Block in Ohio is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations. You will interview clients to understand their financials, then offer clear, personalized recommendations and tax savings opportunities.

As part of a trusted team, you will provide IRS support and audit guidance when needed, while building lasting client relationships in a local tax office environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain tax concepts simply.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications.
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and tax savings opportunities.
• Deliver empathetic, consultative service and identify relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance when needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a client-focused office environment.
