Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to help clients navigate complex tax situations with confidence. You will prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships with support from leading training and technology.

This in-person role is based at a local H&R Block tax office and offers an hourly pay rate with an incentive plan tied to your impact and tax expertise development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of tax preparation or related experience (tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping).
• Experience in client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities and HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notices assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
