Job summary

H&R Block in Topeka, KS is seeking a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses. You’ll interview clients to understand financial situations, then provide personalized recommendations and tax-saving opportunities using H&R Block products.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and life changes
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
