Job summary

SGL Financial is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer for the upcoming tax season at the Buffalo Grove office. You will prepare federal and state returns, meet with clients as needed, and deliver accurate, compliant tax filings in a collaborative team environment.

The ideal candidate holds CPA or EA designation with 3+ years of individual tax preparation experience, strong knowledge of tax laws, and proficiency in ProSeries and MS Office.

Qualifications

• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
• 3+ years of individual tax preparation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, compliance requirements, and tax preparation procedures.
• Experience meeting directly with clients and discussing tax matters.
• Experience with trust, partnership, or amended returns is a plus.
• ProSeries experience is a plus.
• Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1041.
• Prepare returns involving Schedules A, C, D, and E.
• Meet with clients to collect tax information and review completed returns.
• Assist clients with tax-related questions and requests.
• Prepare extensions, estimated tax payments, and tax projections.
• Gather and maintain supporting tax documentation.
• Deliver exceptional client service throughout tax season.
