Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. No prior tax experience is required and you will receive training and support from day one while helping clients gather information and prepare returns.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as your tax knowledge grows, and you’ll be part of a supportive team focused on client service during the tax season.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
