Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services with training from day one. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare returns in a supportive, in-office setting.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll learn with experienced teammates, earn an hourly rate, and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build knowledge and deliver great service at a local tax office in Indiana.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
