Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in a client-facing capacity. You will gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building client relationships.

Training and support are provided from day one, with opportunities to increase earnings as knowledge grows. No prior tax experience is required; a high school diploma is the minimum; evenings/weekends during peak season may be required and daytime schedules are in-person.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
