H&R Block in Hayward, CA is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate for in-person service at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll learn on the job and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge. Availability may include evenings and weekends during peak season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving and organizing information.
• Comfort using digital tools including Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
