Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join a local office for hands-on client service and tax preparation. Training and support start on day one, no prior tax experience required, with an opportunity to earn more as knowledge grows.

You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, explain tax details clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships through teamwork and a client-first approach in a in-person office setting.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
