Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring for a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions while building client relationships and developing tax knowledge.

You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you gain experience. Training starts on day one and continues with support from experienced teammates.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
