Job summary

H&R Block in Indianapolis is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services. You’ll gather information from clients, prepare tax returns, and answer questions, with training and support from day one.

This is an in-person role at a local tax office. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate and have opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and performance throughout the season.

Qualifications

• Completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course 1.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem solving, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client‑first approach.
