Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training and support from day one.

No prior tax experience is required. This in-person role offers flexible hours (15–35 hours weekly, up to 40 during peak periods) with evenings and weekends possible, and opportunities to build client relationships and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills to explain information clearly
• Problem-solving and organizing information to identify solutions
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools (Copilot, ChatGPT)
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend products and services
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
