Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with guidance from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; training is provided to build tax knowledge and client-service skills. You’ll have opportunities to increase earnings as you learn, with peak-season hours possible.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork
