Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to begin a career in tax and client services with training from day one. This in-person role at a local tax office involves meeting with clients, gathering information, and preparing tax returns.

You’ll learn to explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while supporting office priorities. Availability for peak periods and evenings/weekends during tax season is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
