Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local office, helping clients gather information and prepare returns with training and support from day one. You will interact directly with clients to understand their tax situation and build strong relationships in person.

No prior tax experience is required, and you will earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you gain knowledge and familiarity with tax rules and available products and services.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving abilities, including organizing information and finding solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
