Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns, and explain tax concepts with training from day one.

No prior tax experience is required; you will receive training and support from experienced teammates while building client relationships and learning how to identify tax savings opportunities. Evening and weekend hours during tax season may be needed, with a flexible schedule of 15–40

Qualifications

Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
High school diploma / GED/ equivalent.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
