Job summary

H&R Block, a local tax office, is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate in Indiana to help clients gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions with training from day one. You will work in person at a local H&R Block office and earn an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you grow tax knowledge.

Meet with clients, prepare complete tax returns, explain information clearly, and identify savings opportunities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
