Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join our in-person tax office. No prior tax experience is required; you’ll train from day one and work directly with clients to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions, earning a competitive hourly rate.

You will meet with clients, prepare returns, explain tax information clearly, and identify tax savings opportunities while building strong client relationships and supporting office priorities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
