Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to help clients gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions. You’ll receive training and work directly with clients, earning an hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows. This on-site role is based in a local H&R Block tax office.

No prior tax experience is required; you will learn through hands-on support from day one and gain valuable client-service skills during peak tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
