Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns with guided training, and answer questions while building client relationships.

No previous tax experience is required; you will earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows, with scheduling that may include evenings and weekends during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and asking questions to understand needs.
• Ability to explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
