Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in a local office and build skills in tax preparation and client services. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare returns with guidance from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; training starts day one and you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to grow as you learn more about taxes and client services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in customer-facing or service environment.
• Strong communication and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving and information organization skills.
• Comfort using AI-based tools (Copilot/ChatGPT) and other digital systems.
• Successful completion of HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and client-first approach.
